This book talks about woman’s role in films and behind the camera. In Part 1 of the book on page 23 it talks about ‘is the gaze male?'. This chapter of the book talks about feminism and how film is re-evaluating the role of woman in films.

Million Dollar Baby (2004) - I chose this film because it shows a strong woman who knows what she wants to do in life, as do the other main characters in my other chosen films. This film is a good representation of a lending female role and how willing an actress is going to go to get the films point across. Like my other chosen films, the woman in this film, has taken on a role that is mostly main dominated and has been given a life changing role that will change both her mental and physical appearances.

She’s the Man (2006) - I’ve picked this film as I think it’s a good film to represent a strong female role, the character is easy to relate to and you get an emotional response from the audience to the story online and the actions the charters take.
